I have a family member who bought cigars for me in Cuba. I am seeing him in a week. He put the boxes in a ziplock bag and then in his wine cellar. I am wondering if that is ok for short term storage or I should tell him to simply put the boxes in a ziplock in his house. Any recommendations?

The close bags should hold for a bit. Plus, I’d imagine that the wine cellar is more humid than the house.

I am also wondering if I should freeze the cigars since they coming from the island. Does not seems clear if they freeze them or not.

I would freeze them. I personally freeze all sticks I buy just to be on the safe side. This way, I don’t have to worry about the rest of my sticks getting destroyed by beetles.

And just make sure they are legit once you get them, tons of fakes coming out of the island.
For a week I wouldnt sweat it either way. I smoked a R&J tubo last week I had in my truck for the last 3 months and it was damn good.
